The components of the container energy storage system are as follows:

Taking 1MW/1MWh container energy storage system as an example, the system is generally composed of energy storage battery system, monitoring system, battery management unit, special fire-fighting system, special air conditioner, energy storage converter and isolation transformer, and finally integrated into a 40 foot container.


The battery system is mainly composed of series and parallel connection of electric cells. First, more than ten groups of electric cells are connected in series and parallel connection to form a battery box. Then, the battery box is connected in series to form a battery string and to raise the system voltage. Finally, the battery strings are connected in parallel to increase the system capacity and are integrated and installed in the battery cabinet.

The monitoring system mainly realizes the functions of external communication, network data monitoring, data acquisition, analysis and processing to ensure accurate data monitoring, high voltage and current sampling accuracy, fast data synchronization rate and remote control command execution speed. The battery management unit has high-precision single voltage detection and current detection functions to ensure the voltage balance of cell modules, avoid circulating current between battery modules and affect the system operation efficiency.

In order to ensure the safety of the system, the container is equipped with a special fire protection and air conditioning system, in which the fire protection system senses the fire alarm through smoke sensors, temperature sensors, humidity sensors, emergency lights and other safety equipment, and automatically extinguishes the fire; The special air conditioning system controls the air conditioning cold and hot systems through the thermal management strategy according to the external ambient temperature to ensure that the temperature inside the container is in the proper range and extend the battery life.

The energy storage converter is an energy conversion unit that converts battery DC power into three-phase AC power. It can operate in grid connection and off grid modes. In grid connection mode, the converter interacts with the grid according to the power command issued by the upper level dispatching; In the off grid mode, the energy storage converter can provide voltage and frequency support for plant loads and black start power for some renewable energy sources.

The outlet of the energy storage converter is connected with the isolation transformer to completely insulate the primary side from the secondary side and ensure the safety of the container system to the greatest extent.
